HISTORY

Lester T. Russell, the acknowledged inventor of the process for applying polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) to fibreglass fabric, founded Taconic in 1961. A production facility was added in Mullingar, Ireland in 1975 to service the expanding European and Asian markets.

In 1988, the first PTFE coated architectural fabrics were produced in Taconic Mullingar, Ireland in response to the increased demands for additional high performance PTFE/glass fabrics for the growing architectural fabric structures market.

For almost two decades, Taconic, has continued to expand its architectural fabric production capability. Today, the Taconic Architectural Fabrics Division is one of the key global manufacturers of architectural grade PTFE/glass fabrics and currently supplies its So
